well, tomorrow ... Christina is going to pick me up at 10.30am to head down town to get the sage leaves for cleansing of the new unit and to pick up some paints for the walls as well ! Apparently, her contractor is not going to paint the whole premises for her .... only the partition wall that hes inserted in for her .... and tht cost 300$ plus already ... gosh it aint cheap thts for sure ...

so i am going to help her to do up her walls in the new unit as the existing one has got dark patches and dirt all over the area ...

flowing gently

"God comes flowing like water that lays softly on veridian blades of grass and as we ask the depths of our souls to view this expanding simplicity, we are struck by the unity in all."

signs and symbols

You have a birthday symbol which is determined by your birth date. This will be your Zodiac sign, also known as your astrological sign.
Also related to your birth date sign is the Chinese Zodiac – this sign is determined by the year you were born.

Native American symbols are given to us through dreams, meditation or trance states.

Animal totems come to us by way of dreams, meditation, and observation. Also, certain animals are assigned to us at birth in much the same way as zodiac signs.

Some signs and symbols speak strongly to us, and represent powerful attributes we want to ascribe to ourselves. Such signs and symbols - ones that come to us by our sheer personal needs or preference, are often more important than those assigned to us at birth

When these and other signs catch our fancy, we should pay attention. Upon learning the symbol meanings, we find our symbol preferences reveal much about our psyche and personalities.

After all, there's a reason "what's your sign" is such a great pick-up line!

Hallowe'en this oct 31st

Halloween, or Hallowe'en, is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31.

Traditional activities include trick-or-treating, Halloween festivals, bonfires, costume parties, visiting "haunted houses" and viewing horror films.

Halloween originated from the Pagan festival Samhain, celebrated among the Celts of Ireland and Great Britain.

Irish and Scottish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century.

Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is now celebrated in several parts of the western world, most commonly in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom.

The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day",[1] also which is now known as All Saints' Day.

It was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions,[2] until Popes Gregory III and Gregory IV moved the old Christian feast of All Saints' Day from May 13 to November 1.

In the ninth century, the Church measured the day as starting at sunset, in accordance with the Florentine calendar. Although All Saints' Day is now considered to occur one day after Halloween, the two holidays were, at that time, celebrated on the same day.

Liturgically, the Church traditionally celebrated that day as the Vigil of All Saints, and, until 1970, a day of fasting as well.

Like other vigils, it was celebrated on the previous day if it fell on a Sunday, although secular celebrations of the holiday remained on the 31st. The Vigil was suppressed in 1955, but was later restored in the post-Vatican II calendar.

Many European cultural traditions, in particular Celtic cultures, hold that Halloween is one of the liminal times of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world, and when magic is most potent (according to, for example, Catalan mythology about witches and Irish tales of the Sídhe).
PS: as for me this year i'll be home to take part in "trick" or "treating" for the kids around our blocks !! heheheh cool cool !!!!

aladdin lamp we all have ^__~

We are all born with an Aladdin's Lamp but most have forgotten how to rub it.

Each one of us can manifest all that we need and more, if only we would believe in ourselves!

The bumble bee flies although aerodynamically it is not supposed to fly.

The wings are too small and the body is too heavy. But the bumble bee doesn't know this, and what it doesn't know doesn't inhibit it.

It flies because it believes it can fly. Each one of us is invincible and capable of the most magnificent things, if only we would believe in ourselves.

"Ask and ye shall receive" is as true now as it has always been. We just need to ask and give Spirit some earth time to arrange for what we need as well as for the right astrological doorways to become available!

e day of e dead

On November 1 and 2, Mexicans celebrate the Day of the Dead to remember their ancestors—and to offer the dead a chance to visit those they've left behind. Cemeteries, shops, and homes blossom with an array of brightly painted puppets, decorated skulls, candles, flowers, and themed candy. Watch dances and parades and partake in traditional food and drink.

ayako smiles in turtle island

we took a package to do water sports in Nusa and one of the highlights is to bring us to "turtle island"

we thought its really an island full of turtles but its only a small place where locals captured animals and allow tourists to come aboard to take photos of them and theres a small drink area and a small gift corners where one can purchase turtle shells accessories ....

its kinda sad to see captive turtles and different types of animals here but it also brought a smile to my face where i come face to face with the turtles that i 've always loved and managed to snap a few photos with them all ...

its also my first time touching / holding a flying fox and a big snake on my shoulders !!

The weather was scorching hot at Nusa beach and i guess thats when i fell sick too as i went into the sea water without drying myself properly and went straight into the air-con car back to hotel ... journey took us 30mins to travel from Sanur ..

But all in all .... it was fun ! But theres a bad experience too along the 3th day ... and my face grew very dark ... i even ignored most of the people .... i think thts the first time cindy & ian saw me being so angry too hahahha i didnt even want to talk to anyone at all .... i hoped that incident didnt damper anyone's moods .... so sorry if it did ..... but thts me alright ..... hahahaha

heres Tom acting cute ...

next comes Cindy's turn !

Simple vs Real Friendship !

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about their problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.

A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after u've had a
fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

A simple friend will read and throw this letter away.
A real friend will send it away to his other friends.

Are you a simple or real friend ?

Be it a listening ear,a complaint or a cup of tea,

Thanks for being there when I need help.

happy smiles on her face

to me the one thing that makes me happy when my clients collect their commissioned pieces of artwork are the smiles thats shown on their faces ..... the awe and true surprises on their faces always make my day !!

Removing Gallstones Naturally

Many thanks to Frances for sharing this information so that ALL of us can be healthier. How wonderful that such simple steps could be the difference between acute gallbladder symptoms and optimum health!

by Dr Lai Chiu-Nan, PH.D

It has worked for many. If it works for you please pass on the good news.Chiu Nan is not charging for it, so we should make it free for everyone. Your reward is when someone, through your word of mouth, benefits from theregime.

Gallstones may not be everyone's concern. But they should be because we all have them. Moreover, gallstones may lead to cancer. 'Cancer is never the first illness,' Chiu Nan points out. 'Usually, there are a lot of other problems leading to cancer.

In my research in China, I came across some materials which say that people with cancer usually have stones. We all have gallstones. It's a matter of big or small, many or few.

One of the symptoms of gallstones is a feeling of bloatedness after a heavy meal.

You feel like you can't digest the food.

If it gets more serious, you feel pain in the liver area.' So if you think you have gallstones, Chiu Nan offers the following method to remove them naturally.

The treatment is also good for those with a weak liver, because the liver and gallbladder are closely linked.

Regimen:

1. For the first five days, take four glasses of apple juice every day. Oreat four or five apples, whichever you prefer. Apple juice softens the gallstones. During the five days, eat normally.

2. On the sixth day, take no dinner.

3. At 6 PM, take a teaspoon of Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) with a glass of warm water.

4. At 8 PM, repeat the same. Magnesium sulphate opens the gallbladder ducts.

5. At 10 PM, take half cup olive oil (or sesame oil) with half cup fresh lemon juice. Mix it well and drink it. The oil lubricates the stones to ease their passage. PS. 1cup ~ 250ml, 1 cup lemon juice ~ 3 lemons

The next morning, you will find green stones in your stools. 'Usually they float,' Chiu Nan notes. 'You might want to count them. I have had people who passes 40, 50 or up to 100 stones.

Very many.. 'Even if you don't have any symptoms of gallstones, you still might have some. It's always good to give your gall bladder a clean-up now and then.

Biography -

Dr. Chiu-Nan Lai, Ph.D., was born in Tainan, Taiwan. She immigrated to the United States with her parents at a young age. After graduating from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Science degree, she went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to pursue a doctorate degree in Chemistry. After her doctoral studies, she did cancer research at the University of Texas, Cancer Center for ten years. Some of her published scientific papers dealt with the antimutagenic activities of wheatgrass and chlorophyll, the role of potassium and sodium on reversal of cancer cells, and the relation between bioelectricity and cancer. In 1981, under the auspices of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, she went to Beijing, China to collaborate on a research project with the Cancer Institute for three months to study the relation between selenium and cancer of the esophagus in the Linxian, Henan region.

Dr. Lai promotes total health at the physical, mental and spiritual levels. She emphasizes that a person's overall good health stems from the good health of the entire planet. She campaigns for the protection of the natural eco-system and the care for our natural resources and strongly advocates organic farming. Combining the essence of Chinese and Western medical knowledge with natural principles of the universe, Dr. Lai teaches people how to deal with sickness. She encourages us to develop a mind of loving-kindness that seeks to help others, and leads us towards a healthy, blissful life.

Based on the principle that "Our world is our classroom", Dr. Lai established the Lapis Lazuli Light organization in 1993. This organisation focuses in education and training. Every year she takes turn to lecture in America, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Singapore, to spread the seeds of total health to the world.

part of a story wrote by Rob

DARK GODDESS WELCOMED BACK IN?

In 2004, astronomers announced the discovery of a shiny red planet-like
world orbiting the sun far beyond Pluto. They called it Sedna, a name they
said was derived from the Inuit deity that created the Arctic's sea
creatures. But the truth about the myth of Sedna is more complicated.

She is the Dark Goddess, embodiment of the wild female potencies that
are feared yet sorely needed by cultures in which the masculine
perspective dominates. Dwelling on the edge of life and death in her home
at the bottom of the sea, Sedna is both a source of fertile abundance and
a mysterious prodigy. Shamans from the world above swim down to sing
her songs and comb her long black hair. If they win her favor, she gives
them the magic necessary to heal their suffering patients.

The Beauty and Truth Laboratory enjoys entertaining the possibility that
the discovery of Sedna is an omen signaling our collective readiness to
welcome back the long-repressed influence of the Dark Goddess.

We'd like to direct your attention to two further omens. The first is a
book I wrote, *The Televisionary Oracle.* If you don't want to buy it, you
can read it for free on the Web at http://tinyurl.com/3c2j4x.

A second hopeful omen of the Dark Goddess's return is the work of
Andrew Harvey (http://www.andrewharvey.net). He has graciously
allowed us to publish a taste of his writing in the piece below.

BLACK MADONNA RETURNS
by Andrew Harvey

The entire world is now going through a massive crucifixion on all levels.
It's going through an environmental crucifixion. Hundreds of species are
vanishing every month. It's going through a personal crucifixion. There are
two billion people living on less than a dollar a day. It's going through a
crucifixion of all the patriarchal systems. Look at Enron and what it has
shown us about Corporate America. Look at the Catholic Church's
scandals of pedophilia and what it shows us about authority. Look at the
growing disillusionment with politicians of all kinds. All of the systems are
being exposed as illusory and fantasy-ridden, as deeply corrupt and
exploitative.

There's another kind of crucifixion going on: crucifixion of purpose and
hope. Everybody is totally bewildered. They know that the world is
potentially on the brink of total apocalypse. There's a tremendous danger
that as people wake up to the horror of what is going on, they will run
into political extremism or into fundamentalism of one kind or another.

So it's extremely important that the wisdom of the 'dark night of the
soul' gets across, because if people understand the necessity for this
crucifixion, and understand that it's preparing a resurrection and
empowerment, then they will be prepared to go through it without too
much fear, trusting in the logic of the divine transformation.

The Benedictine monk Bede Griffiths shared with me his experience of the
dark night of the soul. He said he was sitting outside his hut one day
when he felt as if a hand hit him on the right side of his being. He had
suffered a massive heart attack that destroyed what he described as his
patriarchal mind and gave him access to a much deeper elaboration of
Oneness with all things.

He said, "It's a very strange thing, but when I thought of surrendering to
the Mother I of course thought of Mary--I often say the 'Hail Mary'--but it
was Mary as the Black Madonna that came into my mind. She is the
mother of the earth as well as heaven, of the body as well as the soul, the
mother of the subconscious, the hidden, of all those powers that the
'masculine' mind represses; the Mother of the sacred darkness. In Her the
Western Christian vision of the Divine Mother and the Eastern one merge
and meet; you can think of her as both Mary and Kali, both preserver and
destroyer. From that time on, I have turned to Her again and again.
Invoking Her strength and grace, I find, makes the 'birth' go so much
faster and more cleanly."

The power that is doing this to us is coming towards us simultaneously
with terrifying destruction and extreme grace and prosperity. The
destruction is, in fact, a form of that extreme grace. It's quite clear that
humanity is now terminally ill, and can only be transfigured by a totally
shocking revelation of its shadow side. And this is what we're living
through, these shadow sides exploding in every direction because we have
done nothing but betray the sacred in us.

We have lacerated the sacred in others. We have betrayed the sacred in
an orgy of fundamentalism. We have brutalized the sacred in nature. We
are now terminally destructive.

So only an almost terminal destruction that reveals to us the full extent
of our responsibility in this destruction can wake us up. And that is what
is happening, and it will get worse. It's bound to get worse. But it is only
being done to us for our own redemption.

Those who turn to the Mother in total faith, those who turn to the Black
Madonna in total admiration, those who realize the mercy behind the
violence will be given extraordinary protection, strength, and revelation.
They will be empowered in the core of themselves to become what
everybody who has a heart and a mind must now become--a spiritual
revolutionary devoting their entire life and all their resources to the
preservation of the planet.

Finding the Black Madonna, in whatever form you want to find her,
realizing the massive task that she's doing and turning to her for
protection is now crucial to the preservation of the planet. It's extremely
important that people really come to understand the feminine and turn
towards it, because it's our betrayal of the feminine in ourselves and in
the divine that has led to this crisis.

Cathedral website at http://tinyurl.com/3avtf6

a poem to share ...

"And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth."

pass it on !

This advice was given to me a long time ago...

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be (possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger), *but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some way.*

And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower or heart.

*Everything happens for a reason.*

*Nothing happens by chance or means of good luck.*

Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight , flat road to nowhere.

It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become.

*Even the bad experiences can be learned from.*

In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautios when you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

*Make every day count.*

Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen.

Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up, because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you love someone, tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store.

And learn a lesson in life each day that you live.

These words of advice are my gift to you. Bright blessings :)

yummy food market !

Shilin Night Market has since become the largest and most well known night market in Taiwan, especially with regards to food, and is a favorite focal point for Taipei's night life among residents and visitors alike. The night market encompasses two distinct sections sharing a symbiotic relationship: a section formerly housed in the old Shihlin Market building containing mostly food vendors and small eateries; and the surrounding businesses and shops selling other nonfood items.

our silly mistakes

today i met up with rayson at 3.30pm to head over to a printer shop near to lasalle to print out some postcards that rayson had kindly offered to do for me ....

when we were there.... the soft copy of the pictures were out of alignments and rayson had to redo the alignments and the wordings on the back of the postcards....

test print first two copies of the pictures came out to be out of alignments too but cos we thought we could just cut out the picture and it wld turn out ok .... we went ahead with the rest of the print .....

then when we were there...... rayson and i even double-checked the results after printing ..... bu who knows......when i reached home late after the ATC gathering.....as i was showing Tom the postcards he noticed that the words on the back of the postcards were wrongly printed......

the words are mirrored so instead of having the right descriptions on the right picture......it was mirrored opposite .....

Urghhh........ can u imagine tht? 2 pairs of eyes at the print shop ....... double-checking and all .....
hahahahha what a silly mistake eh ? oh well ........

we learnt from mistakes dont we ? hehehehe

lets start all over again ! Ganbatte ne !!!!!!!

QQ Rice International Company Limited was established in Taiwan in 1988. It has a total of more than 300 franchises around the world.
QQ Rice is a company specialists in research and developing rice products.

Rice Roll are one of its main products.

Currently, the company has already successfully studied and explored more than 300 types of rice from around the world, including the salubrious organic white rice, red rice, purple rice, also brown rice and wheat germ rice favoured by ladies because of their low in calories.

There is also our self-compounded mixed grain. The most unique rice is the ice lake wild rice from Canada, a type of organic rice, which is internationally attested, approximately 2-3cm in length.

Our rice rolls come with more than 60 varieties of especially made delicious stuffing from Taiwan and local. The customers may also select their own choices of stuffing to accommodate their tastes.

PS: This unusual purple rice was once prized by the emperors of ancient dynasties, for its rarity, its wonderful mild and pleasant flavour and its health-giving properties. It is rich in vitamins B1, B2 and phosphorus, calcium, iron and zinc. It provides many nutrients important for women in their childbearing years.

PSS: just had one of the roll with silverfish fillings, fried egg, tandoori chicken, pickle vegs and something tht i cant recall heheheh but frankly i wish that the rice is not as much as wht they used here........when i was in NZ it was better roll cos its less rice n more fillings .... u see ...cos i dont normally eat rice so the normal amount used is too much in my case hahahah anyway its yummy so do try it when u are in the area?

Evan Almighty

went to see this movie last night and it was pretty good one with cool storyline !

movie plot: Newly-elected to Congress, Evan leaves the city of Buffalo and herds his family to suburban northern Virginia. Once there, his life turns upside-down when God appears and commands him to build an ark. However, his befuddled family just cannot decide whether Evan is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis or is truly onto something of Biblical proportions.

i'll recommend this movie to anyone who needs a boost of faith into their life !! ^__^

letting life unfold

Our lives are guided by natural rhythms that are particular to each of us and cannot be altered by force of will alone.

Life itself is a journey made up of processes and events that manifest before us only to be swept away when time marches on.

Whether we envision ourselves creating a career, building a family, or developing the self, we instinctively know when the time has come for us to realize our dreams because all that is involved comes together harmoniously.

When the time is right, the passage of destiny cannot be blocked. Yet as desperate as we are to touch these beautiful futures we have imagined, we cannot grow if we are not fully present in the evolutionary experience.

The present can be challenging, uncomfortable, and tedious, but life unfolds as it will, and the universe will wait patiently as we make our way into the unknown.

The fate that awaits us is not dependent on our pace, which was preordained before we ever appeared in human guise.

Therefore there is no reason to rush through life to reach those pinnacles of development associated with the paths we have chosen. Enjoying and fully experiencing the journey of life is as important as achieving goals and reaching milestones.

There are lessons we can learn during those moments that seem immaterial or insignificant that we cannot learn at any other time.

Appreciating these takes patience, however, because human beings tend to focus on the fulfillment of expectations rather than the simple joys of being.

Like many people, you have no doubt longed for a device that would give you the power to fast forward through certain periods of your existence. Yet haste is by its very nature vastly more stressful than serene fortitude.

When you feel yourself growing impatient because the pace of your development is deceptively slow, remember that everything that will occur in your life will occur in its own time.

Quelling your urge to rush will enable you to witness yourself learning, changing, and becoming stronger.

There is so much to see and do in between the events and processes that we deem definitive. If you are patient enough to take pleasure in your existence's unfolding, the journey from one pinnacle to the next will seem to take no time at all.

Describe how you could get the hang of putting this tricky wisdom into
practice.

14. Norman Mailer has described marriage as "an excretory relationship, in
which you take all the crap you hide from the world and dump it on the
person closest to you. But the proviso is that you have to be willing to
take theirs."
Describe how you might work in a way opposite to Mailer's; that is
to say, train yourself to call up all the beauty you hide from the world and
offer it to the person closest to you.

You understand that you can never own love, right? No matter how
much someone adores you today, no matter how much you adore
someone, you can't force that unique state of grace to keep its shape
forever. It will inevitably evolve or mutate, perhaps into a different version
of tender caring, but maybe not. From there it will continue to change,
either into yet another version of interesting affection, or who knows
what else?

Getting What U Want ^__~

The first step to getting what you want in life is knowing what you want.

This may sound obvious, but a surprising number of us are going through life without really coming to terms with the truth of what we want.

There are many reasons for this, and they range from parental influences that curb our imaginations to external factors that curb our ability to take action.

We may feel that getting too caught up in exploring our deepest desires is wasted energy when it seems we want things beyond our grasp.

This is a very practical attitude and has its benefits, but it can be safely balanced with a more imaginative and unlimited approach to the question of what we want.

Perhaps you are 40 years old and find within yourself a desire to be a ballet dancer. You see the impracticality and seeming impossibility of this idea, so you reject it without exploring it.

But perhaps you should allow yourself to feel this desire and perhaps even take a dance class. Allowing yourself to participate in ballet in small ways may provide inspiration that leads you in a new direction in life.

And time spent doing what you want to do is never wasted because it generates energy that can fuel the rest of your life. You can begin to uncover and discover what you want by doing a simple, timed writing exercise.

Set your timer for 15 minutes and write without stopping, starting every sentence with the words “I want.” Writing without stopping for a set period of time enables your inner voice to override your inner censor and helps to unearth buried dreams.

It also creates a feeling of relief in the mind, heart, and body. This exercise can also be practiced orally, alone or in the company of a friend. You might try doing this exercise every morning for a week, looking back at the end of the week to see what has come up.

Sometimes the simple act of expressing a want actually releases it, while other yearnings retain their energy, asking us to pay attention.

When we pay attention to what we want, we are that much closer to getting it.

e way it is ...

There's a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn't change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can't get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time's unfolding.
You don't ever let go of the thread.

By Oprah Winfrey

By Oprah Winfrey

I live in the space of thankfulness - and I have been rewarded a million times over for it. I started out giving thanks for small things, and the more thankful I became, the more my bounty increased.

That's because what you focus on expands, and when you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it.

Opportunities, relationships, even money flowed my way when I learned to be grateful no matter what happened in my life."Say thank you!" Those words from my friend and mentor Maya Angelou turned my life around.

One day about ten years ago, I was sitting in my bathroom with the door closed and the toilet lid down, booing and ahooing on the phone so uncontrollably that I was incoherent."Stop it! Stop it right now and say thank you!" Maya chided."But - you don't understand," I sobbed.

To this day, I can't remember what it was that had me so far gone, which only proves the point Maya was trying to make. "I do understand," she told me. "I want to hear you say it now. Out loud."'Thank you.'"

Tentatively, I repeated it: "Thank you - but what am I saying thank you for?""You're saying thank you," Maya said, "because your faith is so strong that you don't doubt that whatever the problem, you'll get through it.

You're saying thank you because you know that even in the eye of the storm, God has put a rainbow in the clouds. You're saying thank you because you know there's no problem created that can compare to the Creator of all things. Say thank you!"So I did - and still do.

Only now I do it every day. I kept a gratitude journal, as Sarah Ban Breathnach suggests in Simple Abundance, listing at least five things that I'm grateful for.

My list includes small pleasures: the feel of Kentucky bluegrass under my feet (like damp silk); a walk in the woods with all nine of my dogs and my cocker spaniel Sophie trying to keep up; cooking fried green tomatoes with Stedman and eating them while they're hot; reading a good book and knowing another awaits.

My thank-you list also includes things too important to take for granted: an "okay" mammogram, friends who love me, 15 years at the same job (and loving it more than the first day I started), a chance to share my vision for a better life, staying centered, having financial security.

I won't kid you, having money for all the things I want is a blessing. But as I look back over my journals, which I've kept since I was 15 years old, 99 per cent of what brought me real joy had nothing to do with money. (It had a lot to do with food, however.)It's not easy being grateful all the time.

But it's when you feel least thankful that you are most in need of what gratitude can give you: PERSPECTIVE.

Just knowing you have that daily list to complete allows you to look at your day differently, with an awareness of every sweet gesture and kind thought passed your way.

When you learn to say thank you, you see the world anew. And as Meister Eckhart so eloquently stated: "If the only prayer you ever say in your whole life is 'Thank you God', that would suffice.

"THANK YOU"
